Find the moment someone said it.

Spool records your day from the pendant, recorder, phone, watch and Mac you already own, and turns it into one timeline you can search and ask. Every answer links to the second it was said.

Example of Spool's Ask: the question "When did Marco say the tile would arrive?" answered with two cited moments from a kitchen walkthrough recorded on the pendant and iPhone.
Wednesday, Oct 14 Six sources, one timeline. The marker is the moment Ask cited above.

How it works

Five devices in. One day out.

Each device hears part of your day. Spool transcribes all of it and lays it out on one timeline, with names on the voices it knows. If your pendant and your phone both heard the same chat, you see it once.

  1. 01

    Capture

Keep wearing the pendant or carrying the Plaud. On days you don't, the iPhone, Apple Watch or Mac can record by themselves.

  2. 02

    Assemble

Spool splits the day into conversations and topics, recognizes voices you've named, and lines up audio from devices that heard the same thing.

  3. 03

    Recall

Scroll the day, search a phrase, or ask a question. Each answer cites the moment it came from, and one tap takes you there.

What you get

Built for the question “what did they say?”

Timeline

Your day, in the order it happened.

Each conversation shows who was there, how long it ran and what it covered. Star a moment while it's happening and come back to it later. The day starts at 4 AM by default, so a late night stays with the evening it belongs to.

A Spool day view: three conversations with time, length, topics, people and the devices that recorded them.

Two devices, one conversation

No duplicates when two devices were listening.

Wear the pendant and record on your phone, and Spool joins the two recordings into one conversation with a channel per device. It lines the audio up, so you can play either device or both together.

Two recordings of the same conversation, from the pendant and the iPhone, lined up and merged into one transcript.

Named speakers

Name a voice once.

Tag a speaker in any conversation and Spool learns the voice, then puts that name on their lines across your history. When a new voice keeps turning up, it asks you who it is.

Spool's People list with named voices and a prompt to name an unknown voice heard in seven conversations.

Topics and recaps

Long conversations, already sorted.

An hour of talk is split where the subject changes, with subtopics inside. Every day gets a short written recap with what's still open, and so does every week. Each recap sentence links back to the lines it came from.

A conversation split into topics and subtopics, next to a day recap written in plain sentences.

Ask

Ask a question. Get the moment.

Spool searches your transcripts, people, places and meetings, writes a short answer and cites every claim. Tap a citation to jump to that line and play from that second. Try the numbers in the example.

Interactive example: an Ask answer about a clinic visit. Choose a citation to see the line it points to.
What did Dr. Okafor say about the new dose?

Take 10 mg in the morning for two weeks, then go back for bloodwork . Some dizziness in the first few days is normal; call if it lasts past a week .

Clinic visit · Wed, Oct 14
  1. 4:40:52 Dr. Okafor We'll start you on the lower dose and see how you do.
  2. 4:41:07 Dr. Okafor Ten milligrams in the morning, for two weeks. Then come back for bloodwork.
  3. 4:41:20 You Mornings, okay. And if I feel off?
  4. 4:41:26 Dr. Okafor Some dizziness the first few days is normal. If it lasts past a week, call us.

Meetings on the Mac

Spool records your mic and the call's audio as separate channels, keeps your notes with them, and writes a summary with decisions and to-dos when the call ends.

Translation under the line

Lines in another language keep the original, with English underneath. That includes Nepali in Devanagari and typed in Latin letters, mixed into English.

Apple Health context

Heart rate, steps and workouts sit next to what you were doing, so a recap can say when you were calm, worked up or out on a run.

Reminders that sync

To-dos from your conversations go to Apple Reminders. Check one off on any device and it's done everywhere.

Screen history on the Mac

Turn it on and Spool keeps the text of what was on your screen, so you can search it next to what was said. It's off until you switch it on.

Works inside Claude

Add Spool as a connector and ask Claude about your days. Claude gets read-only access, and only after you sign in and approve the connection.

Privacy

You decide what stays.

A recorder you wear all day has to be easy to edit. You can cut anything out after the fact, and location and screen history stay off until you turn them on.

Delete any stretch
Select ten minutes or a whole afternoon. It's removed from every device's audio, the transcript, search and Ask. You get a few seconds to undo, then it's gone.
Private places stay blank
Location is off unless you turn it on. Mark home, or anywhere else, as private, and visits there are kept without coordinates or an address.
Screen history is opt-in
The Mac doesn't send screen history until you switch it on, and password manager windows are never stored.
Sign-in on every app
iPhone, Mac and web all need you signed in. Health data is only ever shown to you.
Deleting a selected stretch of a conversation from all devices, with an undo option.

FAQ

Before you sign up.

Which devices work today?

The Limitless Pendant, Plaud recorders, iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac. Spool's iPhone app connects to the pendant over Bluetooth and copies the audio off it directly. Plaud recordings sync in on their own.

I don't own a wearable. Is Spool still useful?

Yes. The iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac can each record by themselves, and the Mac can record both sides of a call.

I have a Bee, Fieldy or Omi. Should I sign up?

Yes, and pick it in the questions after you sign up. Those answers decide which devices we look at next. We can't promise support yet.

How does Ask know where an answer came from?

Every claim in an answer points to a specific line in a specific conversation. Tap the number to open that line in its conversation and play it from that second.

What about other languages?

Spool detects the language of each line. Anything that isn't English gets an English translation underneath, and the original stays as it was. That covers Nepali in Devanagari or typed in Latin letters, Hindi, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian.

Is it legal to record conversations?

It depends on where you are. Some places require everyone in a conversation to agree to being recorded. Check the law where you live and record with care. Spool makes it easy to delete any part of a conversation.

What does it cost?

Spool is in beta and pricing isn't announced yet.

Is there an Android app?

Not now. Spool runs on iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac and the web.
